Tango in Buenos Aires

When I first booked my trip to Buenos Aires I knew there was one thing for sure I would love to do – go to a tango show! Who wouldn’t want to tango in Buenos Aires.

I decided to go to the Esquina Carlos Gardel because they have their own theatre and stage. There is not a bad seat in the house.

Carlos Gardel was known as a singer and composer best known for the tango.

I arrived at the theatre at 9pm for dinner. Everything on the menu looked great. I had the prawns as a starter, steak as my main, and a trio of desserts that were amazing.

During dinner they played a video that explained the history of Tango and then the show started at about 10.30pm.And they were straight into it. Amazing dancing by all of the cast.

“The lights will dim and the orchestra will tune up as elusive legs will begin their dance.”

And that is an eight piece orchestra playing behind the dancers as well. All of the music was live.

Miravida Soho Hotel and Wine Bar

I also had the experience of staying at the Miravida Soho hotel which was recently named the number one boutique hotel in Buenos Aires.

Located in the trendy Palermo area (also known as foodie heaven) on a tree lined, cobblestone street. It really is a home away from home and I have to say they recommended the best meal I had in Buenos Aires at Las Pizarras.

The staff here were so friendly and helpful and the hotel really is beautiful. It is a very personalised and comfortable hotel.
